Coastal Monmouth Beach Report For July 13, 2017

There may be a little relief from the torrid temperatures inland at Monmouth County beaches today. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

Skies will be mostly sunny with winds from the southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour. There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

There's a low risk of rip currents. But rips can still develop near jetties and other structures. currents are Waves will be around two feet high, with southerly swells of two feet. The surf temperature is 74 degrees. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night.

The ultraviolet index is a 10. It doesn't get any higher than that. So bring the sunscreen.

The lightning threat is low, which means there is little chance of thunderstorms.

High tide at Belmar will roll in at 10:53 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 4:46 p.m., followed by another high tide at 11:02 p.m.
