The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon.

Highs will be in the mid-70s, with south winds from 5 to 10 miles per hour.

There's a low risk of rip currents, but rips are always possible, especially near jetties and other structures. Always swim near lifeguards and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a floatation device with you if you are going in the water.

Waves will be about two feet high, with southeast swells of only one foot. The surf temperature is still a chilly 66 degrees.

High tide at Belmar will roll in at 10:51 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 4:41 p.m., followed by anotherhigh tide at 11:04 p.m.
