Coastal Monmouth County Beach Report For July 9, 2017
A superb beach day ahead, with sunny skies, warming ocean temperatures and a low risk of rip currents.

The National Weather Service is calling for a picture-perfect beach day today in Monmouth County.
Expect sunny skies, with highs around 80. Winds will be from the east, southeast at 5 miles per
The rip current risk is low. But rips are still possible near jetties and other structure. Always swim on a guarded beach. Never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.

Speaking of water, the ocean temperature has hit the 70 degree mark for the first time this summer. Wave heights will be around 3 feet, with southerly swells of two feet.
The ultraviolet index is a 9, so bring the sunscreen. There is no lightning risk today.
