A Cool, Cloudy Start Today At Monmouth County Beaches
Air temperatures will only be in the mid-70s, but the rip current risk has dropped.

The National Weather service is calling for cloudy skies and cool temperatures at Monmouth County beaches this morning, turning sunny by afternoon.
Highs will be in the lower 70s, a 20-degree drop from the torrid temperatures of last week. Winds will be from the east at 10 miles per hour.
The rip current risk today is low. But rips can still occur at jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim along or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device in the water with you.

The ocean water temperature is 70 degrees. Waves will be around three feet, with easterly swells of two feet. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers high, so bring the sunscreen.There is no lightning threat today.
High tide at Belmar will roll in at 10:25 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 4:19 p.m., followed by another high tide at 10:38 p.m.
