Dangerous, Possibly Life-Threatening Conditions At Monmouth County Beaches Today

The National Weather Service says no one should go in the water.

The National Weather Service is calling for a high risk of rip currents at Monmouth County beaches today, which means potentially life-threatening and dangerous conditions exist.

So don't go in the water.

"People visiting the beaches should stay out of the high surf," the NWS said.

Waves will be between 6 to 7 feet, with northeasterly swells of 4 to 5 feet. The rip current risk will remain high until 8 p.m. tonight.

Today will be cloudy, with scattered showers and highs in mid-70s. Winds will from the northeast at 20 to 25 miles per hour. Skies will clear up overnight and tomorrow should be sunny.

High tide at Belmar will roll in at 2:58 p.m. Low tide will arrive at 6:55 p.m.
