A Decent Day On The Way For Monmouth County Beaches, National Weather Service Says

Temperatures are warming up, there's a low risk of rip currents

Grab another day of the waning summer, if you can. September is just around the corner.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 80s.

Winds will be from the northwest at 10 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the National Weather Service considers very high, so don't forget the sunscreen.

The rip current risk today is low. But rips can still occur near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.

Waves will be around 4 feet, with southerly swells of around 2 feet. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees. There is no lightning threat.
