Emily Gonzalez Perez, Belmar Drowning Victim, Dies At 12

Services will be held on Friday in Belmar, Emily will be buried at her family's cemetery in Mexico.

Emily Gonzalez Perez of Belmar passed away on June 19, 2017. She was 12.

Born in Neptune she lived in Belmar with her family her entire life. Emily was currently attending Belmar Elementary School as a 5th grader. She loved playing with her brothers, sisters and cousins.

She is survived by her parents, Esequiel Gonzalez Cruz and Victoria Perez Reyes, her brothers Alexis and Noel and newborn sister, Genesis, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Emily and Mitzi were always together, playing soccer spending time at the park or trips to the beach, Emily played the clarinet while Mitzi played the saxophone, they even enjoyed dressing the same, they could always be found with a big group of friends around them or at home eating their Mom's cooking. They will truly be missed by all who knew and loved them.

Family, friends, and the community are invited to attend visitation services on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 603 7th Ave, Belmar. A Mass will be held at 1 p.m. The girls will be buried in the family cemetery in Mexico.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to offset funeral and medical cost by visiting www.gofundme.com/belmar-angels. Oceanside Memorial Home, Lake Como/Belmar, is in charge of arrangements.
