Joy DeSanctis, Former Police Office, Private Investigator, Dies At 64

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday

Joy DeSanctis of Belmar passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 16, 2017 at her home. She was 64.

Joy was the co-founder of Profile Consultants, a private investigation company, which she ran with her husband for over 20 years. She previously worked as a police officer for the City of San Diego. She attended San Diego State University. Joy was born and raised on Long Island, NY. She would settle in Freehold, New Jersey where she raised her family before moving to Belmar in 2005.

Joy was extremely active in local politics and passionate about responsible governance and keeping politicians accountable. She was an avid runner who won her age group in 2013 when she ran the Belmar Five mile run. Joy loved gardening, fishing, entertaining with family and friends and spoiling her cherished dog, Bella.

Joy is predeceased by her parents, George DiStefano and Florence (Maida).

She is survived by her husband, Carmine DeSanctis, her son Anthony DeSanctis of Brooklyn, her son Matthew DeSanctis and his wife Lauren of Havertown, PA, her daughter, Angela DeSanctis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her beloved grandson, Anthony DeSanctis.

A Memorial Service will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 80 Embury Avenue, in Ocean Grove, NJ.
