But the rescues came in the wake of a warning from the National Weather Service of very high waves, a dangerously high risk of rip currents and "life-threatening conditions." News 12 New Jersey reported that <a href="http://newjersey.news12.com/story/36146038/lifeguards-make-14-rescues-at-manasquan-beach" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">several beach communities decided to keep lifeguards on duty after 5 or 6 p.m., </a>when they would normally end for the day.
