Mitzi Hernandez Nicolas, Belmar Drowning Victim, Dies At 13

Mitzi Hernandez Nicolas of Belmar passed away on Thursday June 15, 2017. She was 13.

She was born on June 2, 2004 to Crisostenes and Martha Nicolas- Barragan in Neptune, NJ. Mitzi and her cousin Emily were always together, whether it was playing soccer, spending time at the park or trips to the beach. Mitzi played the saxophone while Emily played the clarinet. They enjoyed dressing the same, and you could always find them with a big group of friends or at home eating their moms' home cooked meals. They will truly be missed by all who knew and loved them.

Mitzi is survived by her loving parents Crisostenes and Martha Nicolas-Barragan, brother Alex, sisters, Laura, Baleria as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends.

Family, friends, and the community are invited to attend visitation services on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 603 7th Ave. A Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Mitzi will be buried in the family cemetery in Mexico.
