Monmouth County Beach Report: Low Rip Current Risk, Cooler Temperatures

There is still a moderate chance of thunderstorms until skies clear in the early afternoon, National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies until 2 p.m., then becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon.

Scattered showers are possible until things clear up. Highs today at Monmouth County beaches will be in the lower 80s. The lightning threat is moderate, which means thunderstorms are possible. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

There's a low risk of rip currents today. But rips are still possible, especially near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.
