Monmouth County Beach Report: Partly Sunny Skies, Low Rip Current Risk Forecast For Today

Highs today will only be in the upper 70s, National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today at Monmouth County beaches with temperatures only in the upper 70s.

The chance of rip currents today is low. But rips can still occur, especially near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach. Never swim alone or at night. The ocean water temperature is 77 degrees. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.

Waves will be around 2 feet, with light swells around 2 feet. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index is a 7, which the NWS considers high. So don't forget the sunscreen. There is no lighting threat today.
