Monmouth County Beach Report: A Spectacular Day Ahead

Sunny skies, low humidity and a low rip current risk are all good reasons to head for Monmouth County beaches today.

Highs today will be in the mid-80s. Winds will be from the west at 10 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the National Weather Service considers high. There is no lightning threat.

The rip current risk is low. But rips can still occur near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim along or at night. The NWS suggests you take a flotation device with you before going in the water.

Waves will be from 2 to 3 feet, with southerly swells around 2 feet in the morning, becoming light in the afternoon. The ocean water temperature is 75 degrees.

High tide at Belmar rolled in at 6:39 am. Low tide will arrive at 12:39 p.m., followed by another high tide at 6:59 p.m.
