Monmouth County Beach Report: Sunny Skies, Choppy Seas, Moderate Risk Of Rip Currents

Skies will be sunny, but it will be cool at Monmouth County beaches today.

Highs today will only be in the lower 70s. Summer is slowly slipping away. Rain is on the way for the weekend. So head to the beach while you can.

There is still a moderate risk of rip currents. Check with your local beach patrol first. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.

Waves will be from 3 to 5 feet, with light swells. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees. Winds will be from the north at 10 to 15 miles per hour.

The ultraviolet index is a 7, which the National Weather Service considers high. There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Belmar rolled in at 10:14 a.m. High tide will arrive at 4:32 p.m., followed by another low tide at 11:32 p.m.
