Monmouth County Beach Report: Sunny Skies, Cool Temperatures On Tap For Today

National Weather Service says there's a low risk of rip currents today.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies at Monmouth County beaches, with highs only in the mid 70s.

There's a low risk of rip currents. But rips are always possible, especially near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.

The ocean is relatively calm today, with 2-foot waves and light swells. The ocean water temperature is 76 degrees.

The ultraviolet index is a 7, which the NWS considers high. So don't forget the sunscreen. There is no lightning threat. Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

High tide at Belmar will roll in at 11:31 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 5:25 p.m.
