Monmouth County Beach Report: Sunny Skies, Low Rip Current Risk

Take advantage of this beautiful beach day while you can.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies at Monmouth County beaches with highs in the upper 80s. Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

There's a low risk of rip currents today, but rips can still occur at near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you when you head into the surf.

Waves today will be 3 to 4 feet, with southeast swells of three feet. The ocean water temperature is a balmy 75 degrees.

The ultraviolet index today is an 8, which the NWS considers, so bring the sunscreen. There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Belmar rolled in at 11:44 a.m. High tide will arrive at at 6:05 p.m.
