Minor Tidal Flooding Expected Tonight, National Weather Service Says

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies at Monmouth County beaches today with a moderate risk of rip currents.
So you can go to the beach, just don't look at the sun during the time of the eclipse today. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers high. So bring the sunscreen. There is no lightning threat today.
Always swim within sight of a lifeguard and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you always have a flotation device with you in the water.

Highs today will be in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the west at 5 miles per hour, becoming south in the afternoon.
Waves will be around 2 feet high, with light swells. The ocean water temperature is around 76 degrees.

High tide at Belmar rolled in at 7:31 a.m. Low tide will arrived at 1:32 p.m., followed by another high tide at 7:48 p.m.
