Monmouth County Beach Report: Sunny Skies, Much Calmer Seas
Summer Is Winding Down, So Get To Beach While You Can

If you're lucky enough to have the day off, head for an Monmouth County beach. The weather doesn't get much better than this.
The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with highs in the low 80s. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 miles per house. The only thing you'll have to worry about is sunburn. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the National Weather Service considers very high, so bring sunscreen.
The rip current risk for today is low. But rips can still occur, especially near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.
