A Mostly Cloudy Day At The Beach With Possible Thunderstorms On Tap For Today
The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory from 7 p.m. tonight until 1 a.m. on Monday

The heat of the past week has been replaced with cooler temperatures at Monmouth County beaches, with cloudy skies and possible showers and thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service is calling for a high temperature only in the 70s, with northeast winds around 10 miles per hour.
The rip current risk for today is moderate. That means you should check with your local beach patrol first before heading into the water. Always swim within sight of lifeguards and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you when you go in the water.

Waves will be from three to four feet four feet, with southerly swells of around two feet. The ocean water temperature is 76 degrees.
The weather service has also issued a coastal flood advisory from 7 p.m. tonight until 1 a.m. Monday morning. Minor flooding is expected during tonight's high tide.

The ultraviolet index is a 6, which the NWS considers high. The lightning is moderate, which means that thunderstorms are possible.
High tide at Belmar rolled in at 7:48 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 1:48 p.m., followed by another high tide at 8:05 pm.
