Mostly Sunny Skies, Rip Current Risk On Monmouth County Beaches Today Has Dropped

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today at Monmouth County beaches, with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms.

The rip current risk is low today, a welcome change from the past week. But rips can still occur, especially near jetties and other structures. The NWS suggests you always have a flotation device with you in the water.
Waves will be from two to three feet high, with southeasterly swells of two feet. The ocean water temperature is 72 degrees.

Highs today will be in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high, so bring the sunscreen.

Low tide at Belmar rolled in at 9:57 a.m. High tide will arrive at 4:18 p., followed by another low tide at 10:42 p.m.
