The National Weather Service says there's a high risk of rip currents today, which means that dangerous and potentially life-threatening conditions exist for anyone who goes in the water. "People visiting the beaches should stay out of the high surf," the NWS says. Waves will be around 5 feet high, with southeasterly swells of 4 feet. The ocean water temperature is 74 degrees. Highs today will be in the mid 80s. Winds will be from the northwest around 5 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high. There is no lightning threat today.
