Signs and Symptoms of Endometrial Cancer You Should Know
Increasing age and other factors raise a woman's risk for endometrial cancer. A gynecologic oncologist explains early symptoms to watch for.

Endometrial cancer, affecting the lining of the uterus, is on the rise in the U.S. The American Cancer Society estimates 68,000 new cases and 13,000 deaths in 2024, making awareness of symptoms crucial.
Also known as uterine corpus cancer, its symptoms can be subtle, says Ashley Ford Haggerty, M.D., gynecologic oncologist at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Riverview Medical Center. She advises women to watch for any unusual bleeding unrelated to periods, particularly after menopause—"even a small amount on toilet tissue."
