MANCHESTER, NJ — Three people were injured when a pickup truck and an SUV collided on Route 70 in Manchester on Saturday, Manchester police said.
Jonathan Gill, 64, of Manchester, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune following the crash, Manchester Capt. Albert Vega said Tuesday. Gill was listed as stable, he said.
Also injured were Mary Morone, 79, and Joseph Morone, 74, both of Manchester. They were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River where they remained hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening, Vega said.

The crash at the intersection of Route 70 and Manchester Boulevard was reported at 1:24 p.m. Saturday, Vega said.
Mary Morone was driving a black 2021 Buick Encore west on Route 70, and as she turned left onto Manchester Boulevard, turned into the path of a black 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 driven by Gill, who was headed east on Route 70, Vega said.

The impact sent the pickup truck off the road and it hit the traffic signal, causing significant damage, Vega said.
Joseph Morone was a passenger in the Buick, he said.
Assisting at the scene were emergency medical technicians from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Priced Rite Towing and the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
Patrolman Brendan Brush is investigating the crash, but the preliminary investigation indicates failure to yield to the right of way by the driver of the Buick appears to be the primary contributing factor, Vega said.
