A group of alleged heroin dealers who had $6,000 worth of the drug were arrested in a raid on a Bel Aire Court home Thursday, following an investigation into a local drug network, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Officers found about 1,000 individual dosage units of heroin, along with assorted paraphernalia used during the manufacturing, production and distribution of heroin, said spokesman Al Della Fave.

The seized heroin has an approximate street value of $6,000, said Della Fave, and police also seized hundreds of new wax folds, used to package heroin, assorted sifters, scales, stamps and electric grinders and mixers, as well as roughly $2,100 in cash.

A 2001 Volvo was also searched and seized pending forfeiture proceedings, Della Fave said.
