Broadway Star Shares Stage Tips With Manchester Drama Students

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township High School and Middle School Drama Clubs got instruction from a special guest as they prepare for the upcoming production of "Rock of Ages-Teen Edition."
Constantine Maroulis, an "American Idol" finalist and Tony Award nominee for his performances on Broadway, spent an evening giving a workshop for the students as they prepare for the show, set for March.
The students were able to ask questions over a pizza dinner and learn from a professional in their field of interest.

Maroulis, whose performances in "Rock of Ages" on Broadway earned him the Tony Award nomination for Best Actor, is renowned for his powerful performances and dynamic stage presence.
He conducted an interactive session, sharing his experiences and giving the students a deeper understanding of the musical. They received tips on vocal techniques, stage presence, character and song development, and the nuances of bringing the '80s rock vibe to life.

Middle School Director Kate Sherman and High School Director Krystyna Hubbard said they were honored to offer their students this unique opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional.
"Maroulis's involvement is a testament to his commitment to fostering the next generation of talents in the performing arts," district officials said.
The Manchester Township drama clubs will present "Rock of Ages — Teen Edition" on March 22 and 23. Tickets will be available via the virtual box office on the Manchester Township Schools' website.
