Delayed Opening For Manchester Schools Amid Extreme Cold

Overnight temperatures in the single digits were predicted for Tuesday morning, prompting the delayed opening.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township School District will have a 90-minute delayed opening Tuesday due to the extreme cold, the district announced Monday night.

Temperatures were expected to get down to the single digits overnight in much of New Jersey as frigid weather sweeps across the area for most of the week.

The National Weather Service has predicted wind chills below zero, prompting warnings about taking precautions to avoid potential hypothermia.

The delayed opening means before-school activities and the morning Y-Kids program are canceled.

  • Manchester Township High School: 8:40 a.m.
  • Manchester Township Middle School: 9:09 a.m.
  • Manchester Township Elementary (PreK-5): 10:15 a.m.
  • Ridgeway Elementary (PreK-5): 9:45 a.m.
  • Whiting Elementary (PreK-5): 10:15 a.m.
  • Regional Day School: 10:15 a.m.
