Delayed Opening For Manchester Schools Amid Icy Forecast
The Manchester Township School District has a delayed opening on Thursday, Feb. 6.
MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Schools have announced a 90-minute delayed opening for Thursday, Feb. 6, due to the weather forecast and possible icy conditions, the district announced.
All before-school activities and the morning Y-Kids program are canceled.
In addition, the Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools are on a 90-minute delayed opening. Afternoon shared-time programs will operate as scheduled.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for most of New Jersey, with a wintry mix expected in Ocean County.
The coastal part of the county is expected to be spared the worst because temperatures are anticipated to warm up faster.

The rest of the area was expected to see a mix of snow turning to a mix for the morning commute Thursday, making for icy, hazardous conditions.
Here are the school start times under the delayed opening:
- Manchester Township High School: 8:40 a.m.
- Manchester Township Middle School: 9:09 a.m.
- Manchester Township Elementary School (PreK-5): 10:15 a.m.
- Ridgeway Elementary School (PreK-5): 9:45 a.m.
- Whiting Elementary School (PreK-5): 10:15 a.m.
- Regional Day School: 10:15 a.m.
