Driver 'Critical' After Pickup Hits Trees, Overturns In Manchester
The man was flown to a trauma center for treatment after the crash that shut down Horicon Avenue, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Camden County man was in critical condition following a crash on Horicon Avenue on Tuesday morning, Manchester police said.
Jeremy D. Bier, 42, of Pennsauken, was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with multiple severe injuries after the crash that happened about 10:35 a.m. about a half-mile east of Route 530, Lt. Albert Vega said.
Bier was driving a white 2020 Toyota Tacoma west on Horicon Avenue when he crossed the center line, left the road and hit several trees, investigators determined. After hitting the trees the Toyota rotated 180 degrees and overturned, coming to rest on its driver's side facing east in the eastbound lane of Horicon Avenue, Vega said.

Bier was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Vega said.
Assisting at the scene were EMTs and firefighters from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, firefighters from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Fire Department, firefighters from Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, and Robert Wood Johnson LifeFlight, Vega aid.

Patrolman Conner Yatauro of the Traffic Safety section is investigating but the preliminary determination is a failure to maintain lane and failure to wear a seatbelt appear to be the primary contributing factors.
