'Forever Young At Heart': William Eschenroeder, Formerly Of Manchester, Mourned

William P. "Bill" Eschenroeder lived in Manchester and worked for the state of New Jersey for 36 years, his family said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — William “Bill” Phillip Eschenroeder, a former resident of Manchester Township, has died, his family said. He was 73 years old.

Mr. Eschenroeder, who was born on October 23, 1950, to Otto and Alice (Daudelin) Eschenroeder in West Orange, NJ, was a long-time resident of Parsippany and later of Manchester, before moving to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in his final years. He died Nov. 28, 2023, his son said.

Mr. Eschenroeder worked for the State of New Jersey for more than 36 years, primarily at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains.

"Forever young at heart, Bill served for many years as a beloved Sunday school teacher and Christian Service Brigade Stockade leader at his church, Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park, NJ.

"Bill was creative, fun, loved the outdoors, and truly had a servant's heart," his son said.

Mr. Eschenroeder was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Alice. He is survived by his wife Pamela; his children, Ryan (Sara), Chad (Angel), and Michael (Amy); his sisters Diane (Rick) Grotz and Sue (Bill) Grotz; his brother-in-law, Wayne (Donna) Mazurek; his five grandsons, and his two granddaughters.

Services were handled by Cremation Specialists of Pennsylvania.
