JACKSON, NJ — The holiday season is right around the corner, and Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Great Adventure is getting ready to offer fun for families again through the New Year.

Holiday in the Park opens Nov. 13, and it will include the Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience that debuted in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.

Park officials say there will be millions of lights, new rides, holiday entertainment and holiday-themed foods.

"This immersive and enchanting holiday experience will offer guests two ways to experience the joy of the holidays," Six Flags officials said. "Coordinated sights, sounds, scents, and attractions will give each section a distinct character."

Both are included with all active memberships and season passes, and will operate from Nov. 13 through Jan. 9. There also are three special events planned.

Holiday in the Park will operate primarily on weekends — Nov. 13, 14, 20, 21, and 26-28; Dec. 4, 5, 11, 12, 17-19, 23, and Dec. 26 to Jan. 2.

It includes light shows, a chance for kids to ask Santa Claus for holiday wishes and a variety of holiday photo opportunities. New for the 2021 Holidays in the Park will be the Festive Fireside, which will be centered around the Jersey Devil Coaster. Both the Jersey Devil Coaster and the Lil' Devil Coaster will be operating, weather permitting.

Favorite attractions will return, including Frost, an icy cirque spectacular in the Showcase Theatre; Holiday Magic: A Celebration of the Season, an LED light show on the park’s five-story tree; fire pits for toasting s’mores; seasonal food and beers, and spiked egg nog.

Also returning is Joy to the World, a tranquil pathway of warmly lit trees, luminaries, and stained glass showcasing religious holidays from around the world.

The Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru will operate primarily weekdays from Nov. 15-Jan. 9. Reservations are required; cars, SUVs and pickup trucks are welcome; large and commercial vehicles are not permitted.

After the drive-through, people can get out of their cars to visit the Merry Market Place, which will be decked out for the holiday season. The "Holiday Feastival will serve piping-hot holiday fare," officials said. The fire pits will be available for people to toast s’mores, and you can shop for great stocking stuffer gifts, play holiday games, or sample seasonal beverages from Holiday Spirits.

Six Flags also will donate plush toys for every plush purchased in its Holiday Friends program.

There are three special events planned as well.

The Holiday Wine Fest on Nov. 13 and 14 kicks off Holiday in the Park. Sample locally produced wines from 12 New Jersey vineyards, and there will be food trucks, specialty vendors, and local artisans. The event has limited capacity and is expected to sell out. Purchase tickets here.

The Holiday Food Drive on Nov. 20 and 21 will be collecting nonperishable food items to benefit Fulfill. Park guests who bring at least six items between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m. will receive a free ticket to the Holiday Craze Mirror Maze. Donations will be collected in the theme park’s outer mall prior to park entry. Requested items include canned goods, cereal bars, fruit cups, individual servings of mac & cheese, baby food, and juice boxes. All items must have their original seal or wrapper, and not require refrigeration. Learn more about Fulfill at www.fulfillnj.org

Six Flags will ring in the New Year with New Year’s Eve Fireworks at 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Main Street Christmas, free with park admission.

Tickets can be purchased on the Six Flags website.
