The owners also thanked its “great staff” for their hospitable service and live musicians “always brought the good vibes & great tunes.” A final open mic jam was scheduled for April 23 to eulogize the beloved location.
Inspired by his time in Santa Monica, Calif., Nagel opened the first Surf Taco site in Point Pleasant Beach in 2001, according to a 2009 New York Times profile on the business.
