Sign Your Child Up For Manchester Police Youth Academy
The summer program is open to Manchester children who will be in sixth through eighth grades in September.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Police Department is accepting registrations for its 2025 Youth Academy.
The program is open to Manchester children who will be in sixth, seventh or eighth grade in September, and is scheduled for June 30-July 3 at Manchester Township's police headquarters. The program runs from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.
The deadline to apply is May 15.
The Youth Academy "is a fun, educational experience that gives kids a behind-the-scenes look at public safety while building confidence and community spirit," the police department said. It is "not a 'boot camp' for troubled youth, but a camp designed to operate like an actual police academy for those interested in law enforcement."
"The objective of the Youth Police Academy is to educate the cadets with various police procedures, history of the Manchester Township Police, tours of the police headquarters, a field trip to Ocean County Police and Fire Academy, and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to succeed in the profession of law enforcement," the department said.
The program includes demonstrations of a wide variety of law enforcement techniques and training.
"We place strong emphasis on self-respect, respect of others, teamwork, and commitment to one’s goals. This will be accomplished through structured events which will be offered in a fun, informative, interactive, educational and hands-on manner," the department said.
There will be both educational activities and physical training activities.
