MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township's Town Hall will be closing at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, because of the conditions created by the winter storm, officials announced.

The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning in effect until 10 p.m. Friday because of the storm, which is predicted to bring 6 inches of snow.

Manchester Mayor Robert Arace urged the community to stay home, especially later in the day as temperatures drop into the teens, "creating very icy, very hazardous driving conditions."

"Stay home ... make some chili or soup or brownies. Play Monopoly. Watch some movies … make some home movies or build a snowman with the kids/grandkids. But whatever you 'need to do' that involves driving can be done later, when it's safe to go out," Arace wrote.
