New Officer Welcomed To Manchester Police Department
Patrolman Donald Miller comes to the department with nearly 10 years of experience.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Police Department has welcomed a new officer to its force with the swearing in of Patrolman Donald Miller.
Miller, 36, was sworn in Nov. 10 during the Manchester Township Council meeting.
He grew up in Brick and graduated from Brick Memorial High School in 2008, then earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology from Kean University. He joined the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department in 2016 and graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy in 2017, earning the Physical Fitness Award, according to a news release.

Miller then joined the Jamesburg Police Department and served there for eight years, becoming the defensive tactics instructor, the release said. He learned that he enjoyed teaching and training with fellow officers and hopes to continue training in both defensive tactics and firearms with a goal of instructing recruits at the Ocean County Police Academy.
Miller also aspires to serve on the Ocean County S.W.A.T team on behalf of the Manchester Township Police Department, the release said.

"We are proud to welcome Patrolman Miller to the Manchester Police family," Police Chief Antonio Ellis said. "As a seasoned officer with years of law enforcement experience, including as a trainer, we look forward to Patrolman Miller’s contributions to our department and community."
Miller has begun the Manchester Township Police Department’s intensive Field Training and Evaluation Program, where he will be instructed and mentored by several highly trained officers.
"I would like to thank Mayor Joseph Hankins, members of the Township Council, and Township Administration for their continued support of our police department and our mission to serve our residents at the highest possible level," Ellis said.
"I join with our community in wishing Patrolman Miller well as he begins the next chapter of his law enforcement career here in Manchester Township," he said.
