New School Mascot Helps Kick Off Breast Cancer Awareness In Manchester

Manchester Township Elementary School has a new mascot, and he helped breathe fire into the district's Breast Cancer Awareness kickoff.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township's schools will be turning pink all through October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The district will be raising donations throughout the month to support breast cancer patients and their families, as working to raise awareness of the importance for early screening, district officials said.

On Wednesday during the monthly staff meeting at Manchester Township Elementary School, the school's new mascot made his debut.

Maverick the Dragon "was welcomed with excitement and eagerly joined in on the staff photo to also show support and help raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month," the district said.
