MANCHESTER, NJ — Starbucks and Jersey Mike's are in the plans for the Whiting section of Manchester under a project approved by the Manchester Township Planning Board, according to a report.

The two chains are among the tenants expected for an 8,951-square-foot site, the Asbury Park Press reported.

The project will be part of the existing Whiting Commons property and will sit between the main shopping center, which includes Stop & Shop, Martucci's Flashback Diner, Scott's Hearing Aids and an OceanFirst Bank branch. It will sit on the property at 420 Route 530 — also known as Lacey Road — next to Wendy's.

The project was approved at the April 4 Planning Board meeting and memorialized at the May 2 planning board meeting.

The public notice says the site will include a drive-through; the Asbury Park Press report said that will be part of the Starbucks. An AT&T store also is expected to be one of the tenants, the report said.
