MARLBORO, NJ — The 2023 graduates of the Marlboro Youth Police Academy were honored at graduation ceremonies on Friday evening.

With Mayor Jonathan Hornik as the keynote speaker, the 21 students could celebrate after experiencing life as a police academy recruit for two weeks.

The students were engaged in drill and ceremony exercises, physical training, classroom presentations, and live demonstrations, the police department's Capt. Stephen J. Levy explained.

They also took field trips to Newark Airport to get a behind-the-scenes look from Port Authority officers and visited the Monmouth County courthouse to see how the criminal justice system functions beyond the realm of law-enforcement, he said.
