Colts Neck Man Arrested for Drug Possession, Stealing Jewelry from Residence

Colts Neck resident Bernard L. Byrd, 29, was arrested August 13 after an investigation by Detective Zarilllo of the Colts Neck Police Department.

Byrd has been charged with stealing jewelry from a Colts Neck residence, total value estimated to be $1,000.00, between June and August 2, 2014.

Byrd was also found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest, and was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Byrd was brought to Monmouth County Correctional Institute with bail set at $2,500.00, no 10% option. A first court appearance was scheduled for August 15.
