Colts Neck Man Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion in Traffic Safety Company

Pecoraro was also previously convicted for promoting online gambling in 2007.

Colts Neck resident Anthony Pecoraro, 50, pleaded guilty today to tax evasion in his South Plainfield company, according to the Attorney General.

According to the plea agreement information, Pecoraro failed to truly represent his tax 2008-2009 information while a Vice President at Traffic Safety Service, LLC, to the tune of more than $2 million.

Pecoraro was convicted for promoting online gambling in 2007, according to court records cited by the Somerset County Prosecutor's office. He later pleaded guilty to knowingly promoting gambling.

Those details came to light on Patch last year when his mother Vera Pecoraro was found dead in her Clark home. Pecoraro was never charged in connection with that case.

Pecoraro's 2007 gambling arrest was the subject of a December 2007 story on NJ.com.Arrested with him was Todd Richard Burger, a former NFL (Jets and Bears) lineman.

The Colts Neck resident pleaded guilty today to writing checks for unauthorized cath withdrawals of approximately $2,126,200 between June 2008 and December 2009 for personal use, according to the Attorney General. 

The charge carries a maximum potential penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 4, 2013.
