Colts Neck Primary - Tobia or Fitzpatrick
Resident's view on two candidates running for the Republican primary seat in Colts Neck.

John Tobia is running for Colts Neck local government. John brings poise, balance, understanding and unmatched government qualifications. He secured the endorsement of the Colts Neck Republican Party and the farmers.
Tobia earned the support of 12 of the 14 County Republican Party District Representatives in Colts Neck or 86% of the vote. (2 voting members were absent). Fitzpatrick, the incumbent, got a mere 14% of the vote.
Fitzpatrick then ignoring the town ordinance, placed her political signs out two months early. The signs came down when residents protested. Apparently Fitzpatrick was in panic mode, concerned over being sent to the home of the previously important.

The League of Women Voters agreed to host a debate between the candidates. Tobia accepted immediately. Fitzpatrick failed to respond if she will debate.
As Mayor, Fitzpatrick wrongfully claimed the “Duties of the Mayor”, as defined by State Law, did not apply to her. As Chair of the Environmental Committee, Fitzpatrick refused to include public comments from 4 residents in the meeting minutes.

Tobia voted against the Colts Neck Manor, a 360 unit apartment complex across from the high school. Fitzpatrick said the apartments were not in Colts Neck.
Tobia took heat for supporting open and transparency in government, after shining a light on the dark side of Colts Neck government at the Jan 14th Affordable Housing Meeting. Fitzpatrick opposed video streaming and video recording our governing body’s public meetings.
Tobia recently added two Board of Education members to the Affordable Housing Subcommittee. Deputy Mayor Mike Viola has refused to loosen his dictatorial vise-like grip on the reins of affordable housing.
Fitzpatrick was quoted, “There are ways you can meet the affordable housing obligation without necessarily having to build.” When asked how, Fitzpatrick sat silent, refusing to respond.
Fitzpatrick claims she supports open space. She voted to eliminate a conservation agreement, in place for over 26 years. Tobia will fight to keep the charm in our Colts Neck.
Fitzpatrick claims to support a forestry plan to protect against forest fires. She voted to sell off and not replace, the fire department water tanker truck, used to haul 6000 gallons of water to fight fires.
An elected official had to be restrained while berating a petite 70+ year old woman. This resident was extended a raised middle finger by a member of the governing body at a town meeting. As Mayor, Fitzpatrick said nothing to condemn or even express disapproval over the abrasive behavior.
The governing body needs someone with fresh ideas. Someone who communicates well without insulting residents and works in concert with our impressive Board of Education members.
John Tobia…grew up in the Colts Neck area, he supports Veteran & Senior Housing to lower the impact of Affordable Housing on our schools, traffic, water and our taxes…Tobia PUTS COLTS NECK FIRST!
