Country Christmas Returns To Montrose Schoolhouse In Colts Neck
The Colts Neck Historical Preservation Committee will present the annual holiday event on Dec. 8.

COLTS NECK, NJ — Seasonal refreshments, holiday music and more will return to the Montrose Schoolhouse on Dec. 8.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Colts Neck Historical Preservation Committee will present their annual Country Christmas at the Montrose Schoolhouse event.
The free holiday festival will feature live music from the Mike Wells Trio, photos with Santa Claus and more.

“With each passing year, we continue to have a strong turnout and receive great praise for this wonderful town tradition,” Chairperson and former Colts Neck Mayor Lillian Burry said. “And we hope to continue this tradition for years to come.”
During the event, Chairperson Mary Pahira will read “The Night Before Christmas” for children and adult attendees to enjoy.

The committee will also be selling their map of Colts Neck historic sites for $10 and their “A Tour of Historic Colts Neck” booklet (written by Burry) for $5.
Inside the schoolhouse, a Christmas tree will be in place for attendees to view and take photos with.
“Everyone on the Colts Neck Historical Preservation Committee enjoys preparing and opening the Montrose Schoolhouse for special events that highlight our township’s unique role in 19th-century America,” Burry said. “We invite everyone to share in the warmth and historic significance of the Montrose Schoolhouse during this community celebration.”
The Montrose Schoolhouse is located at 13 Cedar Drive, Colts Neck.
