Local Union Protests Ethan Allen Construction In Marlboro

Workers on scene with "Shame on You Ethan Allen" signs said the project was originally billed as a union project.

New signs have found a temporary home on Route 9 South in front of Marlboro's new shopping center, as local union workers protest the construction of Ethan Allen.

Ethan Allen is being built in the back corner of the Marlboro Commons lot, where currently only Walgreens is open, and Local 400 electrical workers said non-union workers are completing the job.

Workers on scene with "Shame on You Ethan Allen" signs said the project was originally billed as a union project.

"A big company like Ethan Allen would want us to go shop there, but they won't let us work there," one union representative on scene said.

The protest only concerns the construction of Ethan Allen, which looks to be a stand-alone building. The property will house Whole Foods next year, however the union protest does not concern any other company.

Of course, a giant inflatable rat can be seen from the road.
