Kathy Kansky of Red Bank Boro Middle School is celebrated for her devotion, warmth and dedication to every student.
Marlboro, NJ — Back-to-school season brings a mix of excitement and nerves — for students, parents and staff alike. Thankfully, Marlboro is home to everyday school heroes who help make the transition smoother and the school year a little brighter.
From teachers and tutors to bus drivers, cafeteria staff, crossing guards and more, these caring individuals bring steady support and positivity to our schools. To recognize their many contributions — big and small — Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to salute the unsung heroes of back-to-school.

Please describe why this individual is a hero at your school.
Kathy is the 8th grade math and Algebra I teacher, as well as the advisor for the National Junior Honor Society. Devotion doesn’t even begin to cover how Kathy feels for her students and community of Red Bank. She loves what she does, and that comes across in every aspect of her classroom, and lessons, as well as every minute of her day. From her passion of math, and to her ability to hear every student, and see every student, Red Bank Middle School is a better place with Mrs. Kansky.

What should your community know about this person?
Kathy is a mom to two amazing children, a wife to her adoring husband, and the epitome of what an educator should be to 120+ students each day. She is passionate about making math accessible, and fun for her students. Most importantly, she brings a true caring, nurturing and warm feeling into every space she is in.
