Nicholas Stella

Age: 19
Town of Residence: Marlboro
Education: The College of New Jersey
Occupation: Student (Junior, Studying History and Secondary Education)

What drove you to seek public office?
Marlboro has always been my home. I was born and raised here, and this community has shaped who I am. I’m running for office because I genuinely care about the people who live here and want to give back to the town that’s given me so much.

I believe local government should be responsive, forward-thinking, and deeply connected to its residents — and I want to be part of making that happen.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?
My age and perspective set me apart. At 19, I represent a new generation of leadership — one that’s energetic, engaged, and eager to bridge the gap between experience and innovation. I bring a fresh outlook and a willingness to listen, learn, and collaborate, while staying grounded in the values and traditions that make Marlboro special.

What are past accomplishments or experiences that make you qualified for this position?
I’ve been deeply involved in our community for years — from volunteering in my church’s youth ministry to supporting local outreach programs. I’ve also gained valuable experience working on congressional and state campaigns, where I learned firsthand how effective public service and policy are shaped. Working alongside local officials has given me insight into how government operates and how strong leadership can make a real difference at the local level.

If elected, what will be your top priorities in your new role?
My top priorities will be improving our roads and infrastructure, ensuring that public safety remains well-supported, and protecting Marlboro from overdevelopment by promoting smart, responsible growth. I want to make sure our town’s character and quality of life are preserved while still preparing for the future.

Name one thing about Marlboro that always makes you smile.
Walks at Big Brook Park always make me smile. It’s one of Marlboro’s hidden gems — peaceful, scenic, and a reminder of why our town is such a wonderful place to call home.
