Mayor Engel: 6 to 14 Days for Colts Neck to be Restored

JCP&L will give a solid estimate by Saturday.

Mayor Jarrett Engel said that while JCP&L has not yet given a solid estimate for power restoration, but the current numbers are 6 to 14 days.

"JCP&L expects to give us a power restoration schedule by Saturday and at this time JCP&L advises power outage for 6-14 more days," he said in an online message to residents.

Colts Neck residents with well-water are currently experiencing either outages or low water pressure. Water is availbale at several locations in Colts Neck.

Comfort Stations will be located at: First Aid Building on Heritage Lane, Fire House 1 on Route 537, Fire House 2 on Conover Road.

The Comfort Stations will have the following: showers (you must bring your own towels and toiletries), Non-Drinking Water to use in toilets at home (you must bring your own container), and power to charge your cell phones.

Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice.

Non-drinkable water will be available 24 hours a day in the Town Hall parking lot at Firehouse 2 lower parking lot, residents must bring their own containers.

Colts Neck 4th Quarter tax payments can be made up to Nov. 13 without penalty.

Engel said it's important for neighbors to help each other out during this time.

"Help out a neighbor if you have a generator, extra water or food."
