Two-Vehicle Crash Damages Utility Pole In Colts Neck: Police

The crash occurred early Thursday on Route 34 near the intersection of Route 537, Colts Neck Police Lt. Brian Caswell said.

COLTS NECK, NJ — A two-vehicle crash damaged a utility pole and led to a road closure on Route 34 on Thursday, Colts Neck Township Police Lt. Brian Caswell said.

Around 6 a.m. on Thursday, Colts Neck Township Police responded to the crash on Route 34 near the intersection of Route 537 along with Colts Neck Fire and Colts Neck First Aid.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the crash involved two vehicles and resulted in damage to a utility pole, Caswell said. Both drivers were brought to a local hospital for a precautionary evaluation.

JCP&L is currently working to replace the damaged utility pole, requiring the continued closure of Route 34 in both directions between Route 537 and Merchants Way, Caswell said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Colts Neck Township Police Ptlm. Gabe Campan.
