Aberdeen Man Hit, Killed By Car On Rt. 3 After NY Giants Game
A 33-year-old Aberdeen man was fatally hit by a car while crossing Rt. 3 on foot near MetLife stadium last Thursday:
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — An Aberdeeen man was hit and killed by a car on Rt. 3 east last Thursday night, while he was attempting to walk across the highway, according to police in East Rutherford.
He was hit after last Thursday night's NY Giants game at MetLife Stadium. East Rutherford Police Department received the call at midnight.
The Aberdeen man, 33, was hit by a car while he was attempting to cross Rt. 3 on foot, said East Rutherford Police Capt. Jeff Yannacone. He was walking with another person who was not injured.

The car that hit him was a Toyota Camry headed on Rt. 3 east, and the driver of the Toyota Camry is a Secaucus resident.
Police say they will not be releasing the name of the Aberdeen man, nor the man who hit him, as no charges have been filed. It is illegal to walk across Rt. 3 on foot, and police have given people tickets for walking or riding a bicycle on Rt. 3. However, people often walk on Rt. 3 service roads around the football stadium.

No charges have been filed and the accident is still under investigation.
