Aberdeen Planning Board Holds Reorganization Meeting

New members sworn in, appointments made

The Aberdeen Township Planning Board held their reorganization meeting Wednesday night. New members were sworn in, appointments were made and the 2012 meeting schedule was approved.

Joseph Vena, Wanda Sims and Arthur Hirsch were sworn in as new, class 4 members. Class 4 members are residents of the municipality who do not hold any other office. James DeMatteo and Vincent Vinci were named the first and second alternates, meaning they may fill in at a meeting if there are not enough members.

Robert Brady was appointed as the municipal employee representative and Deputy Mayor Margaret Montone was appointed as the council representative. Both are one year terms.

Bill Shenton, Pedro Mirabal and Akin Awofolaju continue their elected terms to the board. Shenton was appointed chairperson of the planning board and Mirabal was appointed vice chairperson.

Maxine Rescorl will continue to serve as secretary. Michael Leckstein of Leckstein and Leckstein was re-appointed as the board's attorney, Coppolla and Coppolla was re-appointed as the board's planner and CME Associates was re-appointed as the board's engineer.

The board agreed to meet every first (if necessary) and third Wednesday of the month. There will be no meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the .
