Morganville Woman Medevaced After Accident on Rt. 34 in Aberdeen

Police say she was waiting to pull onto the highway when another car jumped the curb

A Morganville woman was medevaced to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center Monday afternoon after an accident on Route 34 in Aberdeen Township.

According to Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers, Maryann Anselmo, 56, was waiting to pull out of the Aberdeen Pavilion Shopping Center, across from the Wyndham Place Condos, when a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Aberdeen resident Robert Pisani, 72, that was traveling south on Route 34 jumped the curb and hit the driver's side of the Aselmo's 2006 Jeep Wagon at about 1:35 p.m.

Aberdeen Hose & Chemical No. 1 responded to the scene to extricate the woman from her vehicle. She was medevaced by NJ State Police to Robert Wood Johnson. An 85-year-old male passenger in her vehicle was transported by ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Pisani was transported by ambulance to Bayshore Community Hospital.

The accident is still under investigation and it is unclear at this time what caused the Aberdeen man to leave the roadway.

Aberdeen P.O. Mary Johnston investigated the accident. Matawan Borough Police, South Aberdeen EMS, MONOC Paramedics, Matawan First Aid Squad Keyport First Aid Squad and Holmdel EMS also responded to the scene.
