
Alfred Boswell, 74, son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Boswell, peacefully departed this life on Friday April 27, 2012 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation in Shrewsbury.
He was born on December 12, 1937 in South Orange, NJ and he was the middle child of three siblings; Jacqueline and Leda. Alfred was born and raised in South Orange. He attended school in the South Orange Maplewood School district until he reached high school. He then attended Historical Bordentown Military and Training School in Bordentown. After Bordentown, he completed an auto body and fender program at the Essex County Vocational School.
He met and married Mozelle Sprately on May 11th, 1968. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Alfred and Kimberly.

Alfred accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at Messiah Baptist Church in East Orange.
Alfred had many talents in life; he was an auto mechanic, an owner/operator of a cab company, a tow truck driver, a gas jockey, a truck driver, a snow plower, and his favorite, a toll collector on the Garden State Parkway for 24 years. He retired in 2005. After he retired, Alfred started swapping cars for Toms Ford.

Alfred leaves behind to celebrate his life, the love of his life for 43 years, Mozelle of Matawan; two children, Alfred and his wife Sharon of Chesapeake, VA, and Kimberly of Matawan. Two sisters, Jacqueline Cameron and her husband Howard of Lawrenceville, and Leda Boswell-May of South Orange. His two brothers, Tyrone Rose and his wife Dottie of Union, and Michael Bank and his wife Charlene of Newport News, VA. Six grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited Wednesday, May 2,2012, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; with a service at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
